Our standard cedar products come in 1x4, 1x6, 1x8, 1x10 and 1x12 and can be 8'-16' in length. Mixed orders are not a problem. Our typical char is 3-sided in 1x thicknesses, but double sided and other thickness are available. While our most common install is a square edge 1x6 we offer other profiles including most shiplap profiles. We do not have a minimum order size.
A note on our finishes
At Northwest Shou Sugi Ban we use only 100% natural finishes without use of petroleum products, including derived alkyds, dryers, surfactants, synthetic polymers, or biocides.
Our two proprietary oiled finishes are both a penetrating blend of pure plant oils - 100% Tung Oil (derived from the nut of the tung tree) with Citrus Oil (d-limonene, extracted from orange peels). Our proprietary Sumi Oil finish adds a naturally mined, near black, mineral resin to create its darkened, distinct finish qualities. Our non-toxic finishes soak deep into the wood rather than forming a surface film, enhancing color, stabilizing the surface, and providing breathable, water-resistant protection with low toxicity.

Note: While, technically, our finishes do contain naturally derived VOCs from citrus oil, we avoid all petroleum solvents and synthetic binders, resulting in a low-toxicity, plant-based system that deeply penetrates the wood (and smells like fresh squeezed orange juice).

Full Yakisugi burn with a thick, textured carbon layer. Left natural for a black appearance and a sheen that changes in the light. This will slowly weather to a silvery patina over time

We also provide Western Red Cedar in various clear finishes. These products are a great complement to our charred products, giving options for accents or trims. We provide the same environmentally clean finishes (Tung/Orange Oil and Suma Tung Oil), but applied in two protective coats to better condition the natural cedar.
